Ethan Epley

Ethan Epley is a committed legal professional with a focus on agricultural law, rooted in his family's longstanding farming heritage. He earned his J.D. from Drake Law School in Des Moines in 2009, where he was actively involved as an officer in the Agricultural Law Association and served as an Editor for the Agricultural Law Journal. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Studies, complemented by a minor in Agronomy, from Iowa State University in 2002.

During his time at Drake, Ethan contributed to the Beginning Farmers Center in Urbandale, Iowa. There, he engaged in research on absentee ownership of farmland and estate planning for family farms. He authored an article titled "Manure Management Planning" and was instrumental in developing the Manure Agreement Decision Making Tool, which aids farmers in creating manure agreements.

Ethan's passion for agricultural law is deeply influenced by his upbringing on his family's century farm in Butler and Bremer Counties. He applies a common-sense approach to legal issues, understanding that each client's situation is unique. Continuing his agricultural involvement, Ethan assists his father on the family farm and has started cultivating a small plot on his wife's grandparents' farm in Butler County.
