John Hofmeyer IV

John Hofmeyer IV, a seasoned attorney located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, brings a unique perspective to legal practice by blending his architectural and legal expertise. Raised in Oelwein, Iowa, John was inspired by his father and grandfather, both attorneys, to serve clients with dedication and a hands-on approach. This philosophy guided him through his education and career.

John began his journey in the construction industry, gaining practical experience as a carpenter and architectural intern at OPN Architects, SOM, and Kahler Slater Architects. He earned his Bachelors of Architecture from Iowa State University and later pursued a Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa. This combination of skills led him to serve as General Counsel for a contractor in eastern Iowa, where he honed his ability to develop pragmatic and customized solutions for clients.

Although John has traveled extensively, including a five-month study of architecture in Rome, Iowa remains his home. He currently resides in Iowa City with his wife, Brooke, and their two Great Danes. His broad range of experiences enhances his understanding of client needs, allowing him to serve them more effectively.

Outside of his professional life, John is actively involved in his community. He volunteers his time and supports ballroom dancing initiatives in the Cultural Corridor through Hawkeye Ballroom and USA Dance.
