Tonya VanBenschoten

Tonya VanBenschoten is a skilled attorney with licenses to practice law in both Ohio and Kentucky. Her practice focuses on Estate Planning and Administration, Family Law, and Bankruptcy. Since beginning her legal career in 2012, Tonya has shifted her focus from Family Law to estate planning, recently completing a certification in estate planning and working towards an advanced certification.

Tonya has accumulated 60 hours of mediation training and has served as a Guardian ad Litem in various counties. She is a longstanding member of the Kentucky National Guard since 2001, initially serving as a military police officer with a deployment to Baghdad, Iraq, where she earned several medals, including a Purple Heart.

In 2008, she transitioned to a Signal Officer role, serving as platoon leader, executive officer, and company commander within the 149th Brigade. Her legal military service includes roles as a Judge Advocate, trial counsel, Cyber Law Chief, Brigade Judge Advocate, and Deputy State Judge Advocate. She plans to retire from the Army in December 2021.

Tonya is married and resides in Northern Kentucky with her seven children. Her professional affiliations include the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Cincinnati Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. She is also a Certified Estate Planner.

Tonya earned her B.A. from Western Kentucky University in 2006 and her J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 2011. She is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio, State of Kentucky, and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio and Eastern District of Kentucky.
