Scott E. Collins

Growing up in Middlesboro, Kentucky, near the scenic Cumberland Gap National Park, Scott E. Collins was surrounded by the natural beauty of the Appalachian region. His diverse career began with his service in the U.S. Army as an Air Traffic Controller in Hawaii and Alabama. After his military tenure, Scott served as a minister across several states, including Louisiana, Texas, Michigan, New Hampshire, and Tennessee. This role deeply engaged him in the complexities of aging and end-of-life care.

After graduating from the Salmon P. Chase School of Law at Northern Kentucky University, Scott established his own law practice focusing on Longevity Planning, Elder Law, Special Needs Planning, Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, VA Pension and VA Compensation. As a VA-accredited lawyer, he is skilled in guiding claimants through the VA benefits process.

Scott is actively involved in professional organizations such as ElderCounsel, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc., the Madison County Estate Planning Advisory Counsel, and WealthCounsel. He also contributes to the Council for Elder Maltreatment Prevention, Inc., and has held leadership roles within the Kentucky Bar Association’s Elder Law and Small Law Firm Divisions.

Recognized for his expertise, Scott has been named to the Kentucky Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for 2023, marking his third consecutive year on this prestigious list, which highlights the top 2.5 percent of lawyers in specific practice areas.

Beyond his legal career, Scott is passionate about hiking, traveling, woodworking, and music. He actively participates in his local Bible study church group and is dedicated to historic preservation, contributing to the Kentucky Trust for Historic Preservation and the Mount Pleasant Restoration Project Team.
