Matt Woods

Matt Woods is an accomplished attorney in Boone County, Kentucky, who brings a wealth of experience from both the legal and business sectors. He earned his Juris Doctor from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, attending the evening division as a dedicated adult professional. Prior to this, Matt obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Thomas More College.

Matt's legal foundation was built through a two-year apprenticeship under John R. Kummer, a respected Northern Kentucky attorney and former Kenton County Deputy Master Commissioner. This hands-on experience provided Matt with valuable insights and skills before officially entering the legal profession.

Before his law career, Matt worked with a private group of international consumer brands and overseas manufacturing partners, focusing on product and brand development for the U.S. retail market. His role involved collaborating with major retail corporate offices, including home centers, mass merchants, and wholesale clubs. Matt developed expertise in consumer product compliance, adhering to standards set by Underwriters Laboratory (UL), the U.S. Department of Energy, and state-level laws, particularly in California.

Matt's extensive background in brand development and international business operations equips him to meet diverse client needs effectively. His decision to pursue law stemmed from a desire to engage in meaningful work that benefits his community, transitioning from a career that spanned over two decades of international business experience.

On a personal note, Matt has been married to his supportive wife, Erika, for over 15 years, and they have a teenage son and daughter. Erika's unwavering support has been instrumental in Matt's professional success. In his leisure time, Matt enjoys playing guitar and piano, exploring new restaurants, and visiting Costco.
