J. A. Sowell

J.A. Sowell began his legal career at ELPO as an associate attorney in August 2017. Hailing from Bowling Green, he completed his education at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and Western Kentucky University. Initially aspiring to be a physician, J.A. shifted his focus to law during his undergraduate studies at WKU, influenced by a professor's encouragement.

His interest in the legal profession was solidified after working at a local law firm, where he discovered his passion for law. He redirected his studies at WKU to pursue this newfound career path. During his law school years, J.A. gained valuable experience clerking at ELPO for two summers, which reinforced his interest in the diverse practice areas the firm offers.

J.A. expresses deep satisfaction in serving the people of Bowling Green and Southcentral Kentucky. He values the opportunity to give back to the community that shaped him, while working at a leading law firm known for its positive impact and strong reputation. His return to Bowling Green to practice law at ELPO fulfills his aspiration to contribute to his hometown.
