About Lee Lawrence Coleman
Lee Lawrence Coleman serves as the Managing Partner and majority owner of Hughes and Coleman Injury Lawyers, which he co-founded in 1985 alongside J. Marshall Hughes. Over the past 37 years, the firm has expanded to include 30 attorneys and 10 offices across Kentucky and Tennessee, with an affiliated firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lee is particularly proud to work alongside his sons, Benjamin and Andrew, who are also attorneys at the firm.
Lee earned his Law Degree from the University of Louisville in 1981, after completing his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Kentucky in 1978. From the inception of Hughes & Coleman, Lee has dedicated himself to representing injury victims, many of whom are workers injured in accidents or on the job. In his early career, he led the firm's courtroom efforts, successfully trying at least 20 cases to jury verdicts. Today, the firm is committed to securing maximum financial recovery for its clients.
Mr. Coleman's professional achievements have been recognized widely. He has been named a Kentucky Super Lawyer in Personal Injury since 2012 and holds an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest rating available. Since the 1990s, Lee has also presided over the M&L Judicial Marketing and Management seminar, fostering relationships with prominent personal injury lawyers nationwide.
Outside of his professional life, Lee enjoys traveling with his family, playing golf, bicycling, and snow skiing. His wife, the Hon. JoAnn Spinks Coleman, is a retired Warren District Court Judge. Together, they have three sons, including Johnathan, a physician in Chicago, and six grandchildren.
