Sarah Jarboe

Sarah Jarboe is an accomplished attorney with a focus on environmental law and civil litigation. Raised in rural Kentucky near Owensboro, Sarah's childhood immersed in the outdoors has profoundly influenced her legal career. She pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Louisville, where she double majored in psychology and philosophy and minored in history, honing her analytical skills.

While attending Vanderbilt Law School, Sarah discovered her passion for environmental law, a field that resonated with her upbringing and interests. This alignment has been instrumental in her academic and professional achievements. Joining ELPO in 2013, after serving as a law clerk for Chief Justice John D. Minton of the Kentucky Supreme Court, she has since been a pivotal part of the firm.

Sarah's practice involves representing clients in complex permitting and policy issues, as well as enforcement actions. She provides expert advice on a range of environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Underground Injection Control Program under the Safe Drinking Water Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (Superfund), Oil Pollution Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and Nonindigenous Aquatic Nuisance Prevention and Control Act. Her negotiation skills are well-regarded, having engaged with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection.
