Charlotte A. Nickerson

Charlotte A. Nickerson is a founding member of the Nickerson Watts, PLLC, based in Frankfort, Kentucky. She graduated from Indiana University in 2003 with a degree in Journalism and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky School of Law in 2007. During her time in law school, she was actively involved in Moot Court and the Trial Advocacy Board.

After law school, Ms. Nickerson served as a clerk for Judge O. Reed Rhorer at the Franklin Family Court for a year. She then joined the firm of S. Marie Hellard, P.S.C. in 2010, working there as an associate for nearly five years. Following the dissolution of Ms. Hellard's practice in late 2014, Ms. Nickerson co-founded Nickerson Watts, PLLC.

Ms. Nickerson dedicates her practice primarily to family law, handling a wide range of litigation issues such as divorce, custody and timesharing, child support, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, and child neglect. Her expertise also extends to specialized areas like appellate matters, pre-nuptial and ante-nuptial agreements, grandparent custody, and same-sex partnership rights.

Beyond family law, she is skilled in estate planning, probate, bankruptcy, civil litigation, and personal injury cases, including car accidents, medical negligence, and wrongful death claims. Certified as a mediator by the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts, Ms. Nickerson offers alternative dispute resolution services in both family and civil matters.

Ms. Nickerson has received advanced training to regularly serve as a guardian ad litem, representing children's interests in juvenile dependency, neglect and abuse cases, termination of parental rights, adoption, and complex custody disputes.
