James Graves Theus Jr

J. Graves Theus Jr. boasts a rich lineage as a fourth-generation attorney in Louisiana, deeply embedded in the local community. After earning his LL.M. in Tax Law from Boston University School of Law in 1997, following a cum laude graduation from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1996, he initially practiced in Seattle, Washington until 1999.

In 1999, Graves joined a distinguished law firm in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he served as a shareholder until 2013 before establishing his private practice. He is certified by the Louisiana State Board of Legal Specialization as a Specialist in both Tax Law and Estate Planning and Administration. Additionally, he is an approved title agent and accredited by the Veterans Administration to assist veterans with pension claims.

Graves is actively involved in supporting local cultural and educational organizations. He has served as a trustee for numerous entities, including the Alexandria Museum of Art, Alexandria Music Project, Arts Council of Central Louisiana, Rapides Symphony Orchestra, Alexandria Country Day School, and Tipitina’s Foundation Advisory Council.

Residing in Alexandria, Louisiana, Graves shares his life with his wife, Anna, and their four children.
