Jimmy Simien

In 1989, Jimmy Simien established Simien & Simien, LLC, focusing on various complex legal areas such as Admiralty and Maritime, Class Actions, Constitutional Law, Criminal Defense, Mass Tort, Personal Injury, and Wrongful Death. The firm also has significant experience in handling Insurance Bad Faith, Insurance Claims, Constitutional Law, Bankruptcy, Commercial Law, and limited Criminal Defense cases.

Jimmy's peers recognized his expertise, appointing him as section chief of the ATLA Litigation Committee on CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) Wood, addressing litigation related to toxic leaks from CCA-treated wood. His pioneering role in national litigation involving CCA wood was a key factor in this appointment.

Throughout his career, Jimmy has managed complex cases involving severe injuries to children, including brain injuries and near-drowning incidents. He is a contributing author to "Children and Wounds," published in 2001 by Lawyer and Judges Publishing Inc., and has written articles on environmental and toxic tort issues.

After graduating from law school, Jimmy served a one-year term as a Civil District Court law clerk in the 19th Judicial District Court in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was subsequently appointed as an Assistant Counsel General by the Louisiana Attorney General and the Louisiana Department of Justice. In this role, he worked in both civil and criminal divisions, initially as a prosecutor in the Medicare/Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and later in the Civil Division, where he was involved in organizing and collecting extensive documentation for complex litigation trials.
