David Stanley

David Stanley, the founder and principal of David E. Stanley, APLC, has been a dedicated legal practitioner in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, since 1983. He is renowned for his expertise in defending individuals accused of serious or complex federal and state felony offenses, as well as those seeking to appeal convictions or sentences in federal or state courts.

Mr. Stanley's achievements include being a Lifetime Charter Member of Best Attorneys in America since 2018. He has been consistently recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 100 Criminal Defense Trial Lawyers from 2015 to the present. In 2015, he was honored by The American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers in Louisiana. Additionally, he received the American Institute of Criminal Law Legal Counsel's 10 Best Client Satisfaction Award in both 2015 and 2018. In 2013, he was listed in The Legal Network's Top Lawyers in Louisiana.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana State University (1979) and a Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University (1983).

Mr. Stanley is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Louisiana, all Louisiana appellate and district courts, the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana. He has also been admitted pro hac vice to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas and has successfully argued cases before the Louisiana Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Personally, Mr. Stanley and his wife, Debra, recently celebrated 30 years of marriage. They are proud parents to four children and grandparents to three grandchildren.
