Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson, a distinguished attorney located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has a robust legal practice with significant achievements in both federal and state courts. He has managed more than 185 cases in federal district courts and has presented 35 appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. His practice also includes three petitions for writs to the Supreme Court of the United States, along with numerous trials and appeals in Louisiana district and appellate courts.

In a pivotal case, Scott secured a reversal from the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals of a summary judgment initially granted by a district court, marking the first Family and Medical Leave Act case reviewed by any federal appellate court, as seen in Manuel v. Westlake Polymers Corp., 66 F.3d 758 (5th Cir. 1995). Another significant victory includes a reversal from the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that clarified the standards for analyzing Louisiana's anti-SLAPP statute, La. C.C.P. art. 971, in Lozovyy v. Kurtz, (5th Cir. 2015), 813 F.3d 576.
