Seth T. Mansfield

Seth T. Mansfield joined Mansfield Melancon after gaining valuable experience at two leading law firms in Lafayette. His decision to join the firm was driven by a commitment to understanding clients' goals while pursuing optimal outcomes with efficiency and determination.

Seth earned his J.D. from LSU and has developed expertise in Personal Injury Litigation, Property Damage Litigation, Insurance Defence, Coverage Litigation, and Commercial Litigation and Transactions. His commercial work includes collections, corporate organization, contract and lease preparation, mergers, and acquisitions. Seth has represented clients across numerous Louisiana administrative agencies, over 20 Louisiana Judicial District Courts, various Louisiana Appellate Courts, the U.S. District Courts in Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Before practicing law, Seth completed his undergraduate studies at LSU and UL Lafayette (B.S. 2006) and earned a Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati (M.S. 2009). During his graduate studies, he served as a commissioned patrol deputy with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.

Seth is actively involved with Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers, contributing to programs like Counsel of Call, Pro Bono Protective Orders, and the Homeless Background Legal Protection Program. His dedication to pro bono work has earned him the Louisiana State Bar Association Pro Bono Publico Award (2016), the Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono Award (2014), the Pro Bono Century Award (2014-2016), and the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers Outstanding Counsel Award (2013-2019).

Peers have recognized Seth as a "Top Lawyer" in Commercial Litigation (2019, 2020), Corporate Law (2020), and Workers' Compensation Law (2017).
