Collin Melancon

After several years at a top-rated defense firm in Louisiana, Collin Melancon and three seasoned attorneys established Mansfield Melancon. Their mission is to provide clients with the personal attention they deserve.

Collin has a robust background in advocating for clients in both federal and state courts across Louisiana. His legal practice spans from complex business disputes to individual disagreements. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Collin earned his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, graduating summa cum laude and first in his class in the Louisiana Civil Law Division. He was honored with the Spirit of St. Ignatius Award, Loyola’s highest accolade for a graduating law student. During his studies, Collin contributed to Loyola’s Law Review for two years and participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. He also served as Chief Justice of Loyola’s Honor Board.

Prior to his legal career, Collin was a commissioned sheriff’s deputy in East Baton Rouge Parish, assigned to the uniform patrol division. His experience as a police officer provides valuable insight for clients facing criminal charges.
