Jimmy Simien

Jimmy Simien established Simien & Simien, LLC in 1989, focusing on a diverse range of legal areas including Admiralty and Maritime, Class Actions, Constitutional Law, Criminal Defense, Mass Tort, Personal Injury, and Wrongful Death. The firm also has notable expertise in Insurance Bad Faith, Insurance Claims, Bankruptcy, and Commercial Law, along with select criminal defense cases.

During his career at the firm, Jimmy was selected by his peers as section chief of the ATLA Litigation Committee for CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) Wood, concentrating on cases involving toxic leakage from CCA-treated wood. This role was a result of Jimmy's groundbreaking work on national litigation concerning CCA wood.

Jimmy Simien has managed complex cases involving severe personal injuries to children, such as brain injuries and near-drowning incidents. He contributed to the publication, "Children and Injuries," and has authored articles on environmental and toxic tort issues.

After graduating from law school, Jimmy served as a law clerk in the Civil District Court for the 19th Judicial District in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was subsequently appointed as an Assistant Attorney General by the Louisiana Attorney General and the Louisiana Department of Justice. In this role, he worked in both civil and criminal divisions, starting as a white-collar crime prosecutor in the Medicare/Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, and later as a civil lawyer within the Department of Justice’s Civil Division. His work involved organizing and collecting extensive documentation for complex litigation.
