About Erik Lane Burns

Raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Erik Lane Burns has deep roots in his community, where he lives with his two sons. He is an alumnus of the Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center, graduating in 1993, after earning his B.A. in Business Management with a minor in marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University. His early education was completed at Catholic High School of Baton Rouge.

Erik began his legal career as a solo practitioner in downtown Baton Rouge, focusing on personal injury cases while collaborating with an experienced attorney. In 1997, he relocated his practice to Denham Springs, LA, where he continued his work in personal injury and expanded his expertise into family law. His practice also included criminal defense, wills, successions, and general litigation.

In February 2000, Erik established Erik L. Burns, A Professional Law Corporation. He has continued to grow his practice, moving into a custom-built office in March 2005.
