Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson has a distinguished legal career, having managed over 185 cases in federal district courts and 35 appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has also filed three petitions for writs to the Supreme Court of the United States and participated in numerous trials and appeals within Louisiana district and appellate courts.

In a landmark case, Scott secured a reversal from the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on a summary judgment in the first Family and Medical Leave Act case reviewed by any federal appellate court, as noted in Manuel v. Westlake Polymers Corp., 66 F.3d 758 (5th Cir. 1995). Additionally, he achieved a pivotal reversal from the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, which clarified the standards for analyzing Louisiana's anti-SLAPP statute, La. C.C.P. art. 971, in Lozovyy v. Kurtz, (5th Cir. 2015), 813 F.3d 576.

Scott is a prolific author and frequent speaker on employment law and other legal topics. His previous experience includes working with a large international law firm in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
