Jacob K. Weixler

Jacob K. Weixler is an accomplished attorney with a focus on federal criminal proceedings, civil lawsuits, and professional disciplinary proceedings. He also provides expert guidance on business law matters. Jacob has successfully represented a variety of clients, including defending the First Amendment rights of a national civil rights leader, assisting a former military official with fraud and conspiracy charges, advocating for defrauded investors, and pursuing justice for wrongfully incarcerated individuals.

Before founding Weixler Law LLC, Jacob honed his skills at Schonekas Evans McGoey & McEachin, LLC, a boutique law firm in New Orleans known for handling complex and high-profile criminal and civil cases. His career also includes significant roles at two international law firms: Locke Lord LLP and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. At Locke Lord, he represented large corporations in intricate litigation across Louisiana, while at Akin Gump in Washington, D.C., his focus was on litigation and white-collar criminal defense for companies facing allegations of misconduct both nationally and internationally. He was also a participant in Akin Gump's Pro Bono Scholars program.

Jacob earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was awarded the Sandberg Family Scholarship. During law school, he achieved a notable victory by securing the exoneration and release of a wrongfully convicted individual who had served 35 years of a life sentence. Additionally, he contributed as the Executive Articles Editor of the Michigan Journal of Race and Law. Jacob graduated magna cum laude from The George Washington University with a B.A. in American Studies.
