Jane Capritto Alvarez

Jane Capritto Alvarez has deep roots in New Orleans, having graduated from Benjamin Franklin Senior High School before earning her degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She returned to New Orleans to attend Loyola Law School, where she honed her litigation skills at the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice as a student-practitioner. This early experience allowed her to contribute to her community while gaining practical legal expertise.

After completing her law degree, Jane briefly worked with a solo practitioner handling general civil matters, representing diverse families in various legal contexts. She then joined a small firm, dedicating over two decades to focusing primarily on succession-related cases. Her extensive experience in this area has exposed her to a wide range of legal challenges that arise during the succession process.

Jane takes pride in assisting families through the emotional and legal complexities following the loss of a loved one. She emphasizes understanding each client’s unique circumstances, family dynamics, and the personalities involved, all of which are crucial in managing succession matters effectively.

Currently, Jane serves as legal counsel at Scott Vicknair in the firm's Succession and Estate Planning Division. She is licensed to practice in Louisiana and is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. Her role is to simplify the estate administration process for her clients, ensuring it is as straightforward as possible.

Outside of her legal practice, family remains a central part of Jane's life. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three sons, socializing with friends, volunteering, cooking, and walking her dogs.
