Michael J. Cochran

Michael J. Cochran offers a distinguished career in the criminal justice system, leveraging his past roles as a detective and prosecutor to benefit his clients. As a former New Orleans Police Officer and Detective, Michael accumulated over ten years of experience in various investigative units, including narcotics, vice, and homicide. Notably, he served as the lead investigator on 20 murder cases and contributed significantly to numerous other homicide and death investigations.

Michael further honed his legal skills as a felony prosecutor with the 22nd JDC District Attorney’s Office, covering St. Tammany and Washington Parish. This role provided him with substantial courtroom experience, where he tried numerous cases and gained insight into the prosecution's strategies for securing convictions. This knowledge is instrumental in identifying weaknesses in the prosecution's case and crafting a robust defense.

His dual perspective as both a law enforcement officer and a prosecutor offers a deep understanding that many attorneys lack. In addition to his legal career, Michael is a proud Marine and Iraq War veteran, having served during the 2003 invasion.
