John D. Ray

John D. Ray is the proprietor of The Ray Firm, LLC, where he has dedicated over 20 years to practicing law with a focus on workers' compensation. He established his law firm in Baton Rouge in 2016 after gaining extensive experience at defense firms in New Orleans and Lafayette. Before founding his firm, John served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Louisiana Department of Justice and as the Section Chief of the Workers’ Recovery Section. In these roles, he provided in-house legal counsel to the Office of Risk Management and the Louisiana Department of Justice on matters concerning workers' compensation.

John's journey began in a rural and economically challenged region of central Louisiana, where he developed a strong work ethic early on. His ambition was to create a law practice to serve the working-class individuals from his community. Today, John fulfills that dream by assisting clients in Greater Baton Rouge and its surrounding areas.

In addition to his legal work, John is passionate about supporting community initiatives, such as the Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area’s Walk to Remember.
