Matthew Govan

Matthew Govan is a dedicated legal professional serving Cumberland County, Maine, with a focus on family law, landlord-tenant issues, and real estate matters. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, the University of Maine School of Law, and earned a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine at Portland in May 2012.

During his time at the University of Maine School of Law, Mr. Govan immersed himself in courses related to household members law and children's advocacy. Collaborating with a fellow student, he developed and led the course titled "The Child, Family, and State." Since his admission to the Maine Bar in 2005, he has worked as a Guardian ad Litem in child protection cases and represented parents in various family law matters.
