J. Dennis Murphy

Dennis Murphy, the Senior Partner of the practice, is a distinguished attorney with extensive judicial experience in federal and state courts. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1982 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1985.

From 1986 to 1990, Mr. Murphy served in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps as an officer. During this period, he was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, managing a variety of criminal cases in the United States District Courts for the District of Maryland and the Territory of Guam. Between 1988 and 1990, he contributed to the judicial staff of the Superintendent of the United States Naval Academy, where he further honed his courtroom and advisory skills.

Since founding the practice in 1990, Mr. Murphy has dedicated his career to representing clients in criminal and traffic cases across Maryland, including those involving serious felony charges. His approach is strategic and practical, drawing on his experience as a federal prosecutor.

Murphy is admitted to practice before multiple courts, such as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
