Mandeep Singh Chhabra

Mandeep S. Chhabra, managing member of Cochran and Chhabra, LLC, practices criminal defense and plaintiff’s personal injury law in Maryland. His passion for law began in high school, where he envisioned a future as a civil litigator and criminal defense attorney. Growing up as a minority in Maryland, combined with his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University, enhances his understanding of the challenges faced by his clients. He values the strong attorney-client relationships he builds, finding them rewarding and enriching.

Mr. Chhabra is dedicated to community service, volunteering for charitable legal work to assist those unable to afford private attorneys. He actively participates in the Maryland Association for Justice, promoting justice within the community, and supports younger clients in challenging circumstances.

Recognized for his legal acumen, Mr. Chhabra was named a Rising Star in Super Lawyers®, received the Leading Lawyer award from What's Up Magazine, the Readers Choice Award from the Capital Newspaper, and the Top 40 Under 40 accolade from the National Trial Lawyers Association.

His contributions to legal literature include the article “Nuts & Bolts: The DUI/DWI Case,” published in Trial Reporter – Journal of the Maryland Association for Justice in 2011, co-authored with Gill Cochran. This work provides insights into Maryland DUI/DWI cases, including trial tactics and strategies.

Involved in the legal community, Mr. Chhabra serves on the Board of the Maryland Association for Justice. He holds memberships in the American Association for Justice, Anne Arundel Bar Association, Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, American Bar Association, and South Asian Bar Association.

Mr. Chhabra earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law. A graduate of Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Maryland, he is fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and Spanish. Residing in Annapolis with his family, he enjoys running and participates in various races and events.
