About Michael J. O'Shea
Michael J. O'Shea was raised in Calvert County and is a distinguished graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Loyola College in Maryland, graduating cum laude and joining the Pi Sigma Alpha honor society. Michael furthered his education with a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor for the University of Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class.
During his time in law school, Michael gained valuable experience working with the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County and the Circuit Court for Howard County. Following his graduation, he served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Marjorie L. Clagett, County Administrative Judge for the Circuit Court for Calvert County. In this role, he honed his skills in complex legal research across various legal areas.
After completing his clerkship, Michael transitioned to private practice in Southern Maryland. He currently focuses on plaintiff's personal injury matters, such as car accidents, as well as insurance defense cases. Michael is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association, particularly within the Young Lawyers Section Council.
Outside of his legal practice, Michael enjoys hiking, sailing, reading, and cooking. He is also passionate about long-distance cycling.
