Renee Gast

Renee Gast serves as an associate at Silverman Thompson, contributing her expertise to the business litigation and real estate practice groups. Her career is marked by a rich blend of experiences in both the public and private sectors.

After graduating from law school, Renee worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Mark W. Crooks at the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County. In this role, she enhanced her research, writing, and analytical skills while assisting in civil and criminal cases.

Renee is a well-regarded member of the Baltimore legal community, known for her approachable demeanor and strong professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and judiciary members. Her effective communication skills in both writing and oral advocacy have been widely acknowledged.

Renee's practical legal experience began at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she completed internships and clerkships with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission, Judge Douglas R. M. Nazarian on the Appellate Court of Maryland, and Council, Baradel, and Kosmerl & Nolan, P.A. These roles helped her refine her client advocacy skills and deepen her legal understanding.

During law school, Renee served as Symposium Editor for the Law Review, organizing a symposium on cannabis law that covered business, criminal law, and social equity issues. This experience highlighted her organizational and leadership capabilities. Additionally, she worked as a student attorney at UB Law’s Saul Ewing Civil Advocacy Clinic.

Before her legal career, Renee earned a B.A. from Towson University, where she was a Division I student-athlete on the varsity women’s soccer team.
