Sharon Tal Diamant

Sharon Tal Diamant brings over twenty-five years of legal expertise to her private practice in Aspen Hill, Maryland. Her career commenced in October 2000 at the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, where she initially served as a prosecutor. After briefly practicing criminal law in Florida from 2002 to 2004, she returned to Montgomery County and continued her prosecutorial work until 2010, when she established her own law firm.

During her time as a prosecutor, Ms. Diamant handled a wide range of cases, including theft, assault, traffic offenses, and sexual abuse matters within the Juvenile Division. Notably, one of her juvenile cases contributed to the enactment of legislation mandating that juveniles charged with sexual offenses register as sex offenders, as reported by the Washington Post. In 2007, she became part of the white-collar crime team, managing significant cases involving large-scale thefts, embezzlements, police shootings, and public official misconduct investigations.

For the past fifteen years, Ms. Diamant has concentrated on criminal and domestic law, frequently appearing before magistrates and judges. Her practice encompasses divorce, child custody, child support, peace and protective orders, and post-judgment issues. Her cases have gained media attention, including a grandparent’s right to custody featured on WJLA 7 News and a case that resulted in mental health treatment rather than incarceration.

Ms. Diamant earned her J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1999. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, Florida, the U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, Maryland, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
