David Sanford

David Sanford, the Chairman and Co-Founder of Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP, leads a distinguished national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. He earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School, an M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.A. from Vassar College. Since 2004, David has achieved recoveries exceeding one billion dollars for individual clients and the United States government.

David represents a wide range of clients, from C-suite executives to non-managerial hourly workers across the United States. He has served as lead counsel in over 50 class actions and numerous qui tam cases nationwide. Additionally, he has represented more than 100 general counsel and attorneys in various legal matters, including contract disputes, employment issues, and severance agreements.

His exceptional legal skills have earned him a place in the National Law Journal’s “Elite Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame” and recognition as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in America by the National Trial Lawyers. He serves on the Board of the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem and Corps Africa, and is a member of the advisory board for the Foundation for Advocacy, Inclusion, and Resources. He also contributes to the advisory board of Aernos and the advisory forum of the Stanford University Center on the Legal Profession.
