Jessica Markham

Jessica Markham is a dedicated family law attorney serving clients in Maryland and Washington, D.C. She possesses extensive trial experience across Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Baltimore County, and Washington, D.C. courts. In addition to her courtroom expertise, Ms. Markham is trained in Collaborative Law and offers services in guardianship matters. She is frequently appointed by the court as an attorney for Allegedly Disabled Adults and as Guardian of the Property.

In family law proceedings, Ms. Markham is often appointed as a Child Privilege Attorney and a Best Interest Attorney, previously known as Guardian Ad Litem. Her practice also includes an active mediation component, where she acts as a neutral mediator to resolve custody and divorce/property disputes. She regularly serves as a court-appointed custody mediator in the Montgomery County Circuit Court Child Custody/Access Mediation Program and as an Attorney-Facilitator through Montgomery County Circuit Court, Family Division Services.

Here, she is involved in a study conducted by the National Institute of Justice and Indiana University Maurer School of Law, focusing on cases with high incidents of Interpersonal Violence, utilizing both shuttle and video-conferencing methods. Ms. Markham is also a Court-Approved ADR Facilitator in the DC Superior Court.

Recently, Ms. Markham completed her term on the Montgomery County Commission for Juvenile Justice, following her appointment by County Executive Ike Leggett and confirmation by the County Council in 2015.
