Jonathan Weetman

Jonathan Weetman is a distinguished attorney focusing on business law and serves as a trusted business counselor. His dedication lies in improving the success of entrepreneurs and their ventures. Jon's career includes significant roles, such as serving as the Director of Entrepreneurship and Workforce Development for the Carroll County Department of Economic Development. In this capacity, he was instrumental in creating a comprehensive business support network, which features the Carroll Business Path, the Carroll County Small Business Loan Fund, and the 'Know Before It’s Go' regulatory compliance assistance program. He also spearheaded workforce development initiatives as the head of the Carroll County Business and Employment Resource Center.

Prior to his governmental role in Carroll County, Jon built a robust career in business administration, consulting, and legal services. His experience encompasses leadership positions in business units, managing his own consulting company, and running a law firm. Jon has also held key roles with international manufacturers and led a team of LEAN and Six Sigma engineers focused on delivering industrial process improvements across various sectors.

Jon holds a degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland, an MBA from Loyola University of Maryland, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. He has also completed negotiation training at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.

He is a proud member of the Maryland Bar. Beyond his professional commitments, Jon cherishes his role as Hockey Director and coach at a Frederick area ice rink, which he considers the world's best part-time job.
