Naomi R. Shatz

Naomi R. Shatz is a dedicated advocate for students' rights, university discipline, and employee rights, serving clients across all educational levels, from elementary to graduate school. Her expertise extends to representing teachers and professors in cases involving discrimination, sexual assault, sexual harassment, and academic misconduct. Naomi also provides counsel in employment matters and criminal cases.

Naomi's accomplishments have been recognized by her inclusion in the Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers every year since 2016. In 2018, she was honored as an Up & Coming Lawyer by Massachusetts Law Weekly.

Before joining Zalkind Duncan & Bernstein LLP, Naomi served as a Skadden Fellow and staff attorney at the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU). Notably, she represented a student in a groundbreaking discrimination case concerning gender stereotypes, resulting in a settlement that mandated policy changes within the school district. Additionally, she played a crucial role in a class-action lawsuit addressing police practices in New York City public schools.

During her time at Yale Law School, Naomi was a managing editor for the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism and an editor for the Yale Human Rights & Development Law Journal. She also chaired Law Students for Reproductive Justice and co-founded the school's Domestic Violence Clinic, where she represented domestic violence survivors in family law matters.
