James M Lynch

James M. Lynch, a practicing attorney since 1977, is the Principal and President of Lynch & Owens, P.C. in Brockton, Massachusetts. A Hingham resident since 1983, Jim's extensive experience includes serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County and litigating in all Massachusetts courts. His expertise is invaluable in providing aggressive and professional client representation.

Jim focuses on probate and family law, personal injury, and select criminal law areas. He earned his B.S. from Boston College in 1973 and his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1976. Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in January 1977, he is also a member of the Bar of the Federal District Court for Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Between 1977 and 1984, Jim served as an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County, writing and arguing appeals before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court. He successfully prosecuted hundreds of felony cases, many before twelve-member juries.

From 1984 to 1987, Jim worked as Senior Trial Counsel for Commercial Union Insurance Company's Boston office, defending numerous personal injury cases in state and federal courts, including complex product liability cases. Between 1987 and 1990, he joined P.J. Piscitelli, a prominent Brockton criminal trial attorney, where he managed a thriving personal injury practice, achieving significant verdicts, such as a $3.1 Million jury verdict in a Suffolk County bus accident case.
