Walter Metzen

Walter Metzen, a Board Certified Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification, provides expert representation for consumer and small business debtors in bankruptcy cases across the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science from Michigan State University and a law degree from the University of Detroit, Mr. Metzen brings a strong educational background to his practice.

Mr. Metzen is actively involved in the legal community as a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Consumer Bankruptcy Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He has shared his expertise as a guest lecturer on bankruptcy and debtor/creditor topics at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

In addition, he has contributed as a speaker for the Consumer Bankruptcy Association and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. His leadership includes serving on the subcommittee tasked with drafting revisions to local bankruptcy rules.

Over the past 20 years, Mr. Metzen has successfully filed over ten thousand bankruptcy cases for individuals and married couples in the Detroit area, demonstrating his commitment and extensive experience in the field.
