Liisa R. Speaker

Liisa R. Speaker graduated from The University of Texas School of Law, recognized among the nation's top law schools. She is renowned for her exceptional advocacy skills, both written and oral, which have led to client successes in appeals involving custody disputes, no-fault automobile insurance, real property, and probate cases.

In 2007, Liisa established Speaker Law Firm, focusing exclusively on appellate law. Her practice areas include family law, adoption, and child welfare cases. She has represented clients in the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Liisa has contributed her expertise by drafting and submitting amicus briefs for organizations such as the Family Law Section and the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan, as well as the Michigan Association for Justice.

Her leadership roles include serving as a council member and the current recording secretary for the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). Previously, she chaired the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan and was appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court to two consecutive four-year terms on the Court Reporter and Recorder Board of Review.
