Barry Conybeare

Barry Conybeare, a prominent personal injury attorney in Southwest Michigan, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his practice. Raised in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph, Barry completed his education at Lake Michigan Catholic High School, followed by a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1988. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law in 1992. Barry began his legal journey as a commercial litigation associate at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom in Chicago, one of the largest law firms globally.

In 1994, Barry and his wife, Jody, returned to their roots to raise their family and contribute to the community. He joined his father, Bruce Conybeare, at Conybeare Injury and Accident Lawyers, where he focuses on personal injury law, including auto accidents, medical and nursing home malpractice, product liability, wrongful death, and insurance disputes. Barry is licensed to practice in both Michigan and Illinois, admitted before the Supreme Courts of these states and several federal courts.

Barry's personal experiences have profoundly influenced his dedication to injury law. Having lost a close friend to distracted driving and a college roommate to a drunk driver, he is deeply empathetic and committed to aiding those affected by tragic losses.

Actively involved in the legal community, Barry serves on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association for Justice, a role he has held since 2003. His contributions extend to the State Bar Character and Fitness Committee, and he is a past president of the Berrien County Bar Association. Barry's professional excellence is evident in his annual inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America since 2008, and his recognition as Lawyer of the Year for Plaintiff’s Personal Injury in the Kalamazoo Region in 2017.
