Robert Schlacks

Robert Schlacks joined Conybeare Injury and Accident Lawyers in 2022, bringing with him a robust expertise in both civil and criminal litigation. He holds a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Eastern Illinois University, where he also minored in pre-law. His involvement in the undergraduate mock trial team sparked his passion for law, leading him to earn his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, now known as the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law.

Robert began his legal career advocating for clients injured in auto accidents, dog bites, and premises liability cases. He effectively collaborated with clients, medical professionals, and insurers to settle claims, and demonstrated his litigation skills by achieving a jury verdict more than double the final settlement offer in a significant case involving a bicyclist hit by a car.

In 2019, Robert returned to Southwest Michigan, where he was raised, to start a family with his wife. He joined the Berrien County Public Defender’s Office, managing over 600 misdemeanor and felony cases within three and a half years. This role honed his courtroom abilities and resulted in several not-guilty verdicts.

Robert’s comprehensive experience in both civil and criminal arenas makes him a formidable advocate for his clients in Kalamazoo and beyond.
