Lauren Underwood

Lauren Underwood is an experienced attorney in Macomb, Michigan, with a focus on estate and tax planning, probate and trust administration, and contested probate and trust matters. She previously served as the Chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Council of the State Bar of Michigan and was the editor of the Probate Journal. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Real Property, Trust Law, and Taxation Sections of the American Bar Association, as well as the Taxation Section of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association.

Ms. Underwood has contributed to the legal community through her writings, including several articles and as a contributing author for the ICLE publication Michigan Estate Planning Handbook. Her academic achievements include a B.A. degree with high distinction from Wayne State University in 1981 and a Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the Detroit College of Law in 1991.

She frequently lectures for various groups and organizations, notably the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Her leadership roles extend to being the Past President of the Wayne State University Alumni Association and the Woodbridge Citizen’s Association. Additionally, she has served on the Board of Visitors of the Institute of Gerontology and as a board member for St. Luke’s Health Ministries and Canterbury on the Lake.
