Matthew Walton

Matthew Walton leads a practice with a primary focus on criminal cases and family law. His extensive expertise covers a range of criminal charges such as drug possession, drunk driving, minor in possession, marijuana offenses, assault, criminal sexual conduct, larceny, probation violations, and juvenile offenses. Matthew ensures clients understand their charges and the legal process based on individual circumstances.

In family law, Matthew has represented hundreds of divorce clients, managing cases from straightforward to highly complex. He also handles custody, paternity, parenting time, spousal and child support, property division, and grandparents' rights. His commitment is to keep clients informed and guide them through challenging situations to achieve optimal outcomes.

A native of the Metro Detroit area, Matthew graduated from Troy High and holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Michigan University. He earned his Juris Doctor from Detroit College of Law, now Michigan State Law, in 1991, and was admitted to the Michigan State Bar the same year. During and after law school, he worked as a research attorney for the Macomb County Circuit Court, ghostwriting over 500 judicial opinions. He then joined a leading medical malpractice law firm before founding his practice in 1995.
