James Scott Robbins

James Scott Robbins has been an integral part of the Government Law department at Barna, Guzy & Steffen since June 2023. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his background in criminal law and trial advocacy, honed through diverse legal roles. Before joining the firm, James served as an Assistant Public Defender and as a Judge Advocate with the Minnesota Army National Guard. His career also spans several years in private practice, where he adeptly handled criminal, civil, and business law cases.

In addition to his legal practice, James contributes to academia as an adjunct faculty member at St. Cloud State University, where he teaches courses on criminal liability principles. His tenure as a United States Marine Corps veteran has instilled in him a profound sense of discipline, ethics, and commitment, which are evident in his approach to law.

Outside of his professional commitments, James enjoys quality time with family and friends. He is passionate about discovering new places and maintaining an active lifestyle.
