Eva Cheney-Hatcher

Eva Cheney-Hatcher is a seasoned Family Law Attorney and Qualified Rule 114 Neutral with 19 years of experience. She graduated summa cum laude from Sioux Falls University in South Dakota, earning degrees in English and Business. Recognized as an Outstanding College Student of America and a member of the Honors Society, she later attended the University of South Dakota School of Law. There, she earned her Juris Doctorate and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Research and Writing, a Law School Foundation Academic Scholarship, and was listed in Who's Who Among American Law Students.

Eva's legal practice spans several areas, including family law, business law, probate, estate planning, bankruptcy, real estate, criminal law, and administrative law. For the past eight years, she has dedicated her practice exclusively to family law, representing clients in complex marital estates, financial issues, and custody disputes. Her comprehensive knowledge in multiple legal areas and alternative dispute resolution enhances her ability to serve her family law clients effectively. Eva is committed to making the legal process clear and supportive while vigorously advocating for her clients' interests.

As a Qualified Neutral, Eva offers a range of services to resolve disputes outside of court. She functions as a Mediator, Arbitrator, Early Neutral Evaluator, Parenting Consultant, Parenting Time Expeditor, and Consensual Special Magistrate. Since her initial 40-hour Family Law Mediation Training in 1996, she has pursued extensive additional training in Civil and Family Law Mediation, Arbitration, and High Conflict Dispute Resolution. Notably, she participated in the American Bar Association's pilot program to introduce mediation into high schools and helped develop the first Peer Mediation program in a South Dakota high school. In 2007, she joined the Hennepin County pilot program for Financial Early Neutral Evaluation and continues to provide these services.

Ms. Cheney-Hatcher is licensed to practice in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Pennsylvania, in both state and federal courts. She is an active member of the American Bar Association, Minnesota Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association, Dakota County Bar Association, and South Dakota Bar Association.
