About Lizbeth Jimena Velasquez

Lizbeth Jimena Velasquez was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in September 2023. Her practice later expanded at Danks Miller & Cory, where she handled civil, criminal, and immigration cases. Currently, she practices at Chhabra, Gibbs & Trehan, concentrating on U.S. immigration law and representing individuals and families in both affirmative and defensive proceedings.

Before her legal career, Lizbeth dedicated nearly twenty years to archaeology, including over eighteen years with the Environmental Division of the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Lizbeth has resided in Mississippi since early childhood. She is an alumna of the Byram Attendance Center and graduated from Mississippi State University in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Her commitment to community advocacy and educational initiatives continues to make a significant impact throughout the state.
