James S Beam

James S. Beam, originally from Baton Rouge, LA, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1992. He completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in 1999, followed by a J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 2002. James is admitted to practice law in all Federal and State courts in Mississippi and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, LA.

James has a diverse legal practice, encompassing insurance investigations and litigation, personal injury, workers’ compensation, social security, and opioid claims. His clientele ranges from disabled workers seeking workers’ compensation to major commercial insurance carriers.

He has notably represented the State of Mississippi’s Department of Transportation and successfully negotiated significant claims under the General Motors national victims compensation fund related to defective ignition switches. Currently, he is advocating for victims in the Purdue Pharma Bankruptcy case in New York.

James serves as outside counsel for one of the nation's largest auto insurance carriers, focusing on special investigations involving fraud and insurance crimes. An associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, he collaborates closely with SIU teams, law enforcement, and the National Insurance Crime Bureau.

In addition to his primary practice, James is of counsel to Rogers, Ainsworth & Williams, PLLC and frequently partners with M. Devin Whitt, PLLC. Since 2002, he has been dedicated to representing clients across Mississippi. James resides in Ridgeland, MS, with his wife, Asher Street Beam.
