Jay M. Kilpatrick

In May 2016, Jay M. Kilpatrick became a vital member of the Kilpatrick & Philley, Attorneys at Law team. A Mississippi native from Philadelphia, Jay enhances the firm's capabilities with his extensive experience.

Before joining the firm, Jay spent 16 years at a larger firm in the Jackson area, where he was a shareholder. His practice concentrated on personal injury, particularly maritime law, representing individuals injured offshore. Notably, Jay handled a Deepwater Horizon claim and achieved a significant settlement for a family affected by an offshore tragedy.

Jay has played a key role in recovering over $35 million for clients through verdicts and settlements in various cases. In addition to personal injury, he practices family law, focusing on divorce and child custody matters.

Jay's commitment to his clients is evident in his approach, treating each case as a significant life event. He has successfully argued before the Fifth Circuit three times and was featured in the July 2006 ABA Journal.

Recognized for his legal excellence, Jay holds an AV-Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell® and is a Million Dollar Advocates Forum® member. He was listed in the Mid-South Rising Stars by Super Lawyers® from 2009 to 2014.

Outside of work, Jay enjoys attending Ole Miss sporting events, participating in his children's sports, and hunting.
