About Joe Hemleben

Joe Hemleben established the Hemleben Law Firm to provide assertive legal representation across all stages of litigation. With more than a decade of experience, Joe is dedicated to serving his clients with skillful advocacy in both trial and appellate courts.

Prior to founding his firm, Joe was an Assistant District Attorney at the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office. In this role, he prosecuted felonies in the state's busiest jurisdiction, managing a criminal docket that included over 200 felony cases at various stages. Joe also contributed as the Director of the Appellate Division, representing the State of Mississippi in post-trial matters and supporting complex litigation teams.

Joe's appellate advocacy is extensive, having served as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Litigation Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office. He represented the State of Mississippi in criminal felony appeals and post-conviction proceedings before both the Mississippi Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals.

After law school, Joe gained valuable experience as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Court of Appeals for the State of Mississippi. His military service as a former United States Marine during Operation Enduring Freedom provides him with a unique perspective and discipline. Currently, Joe is a JAG Officer in the United States Air Force Reserve, serving as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the 403d Wing at Keesler Air Force Base.
