Kevin Wayne Frye

Kevin Wayne Frye holds prominent roles in both legal and community spheres. He is the Chair of Mississippi’s Special Education Advisory Panel, advising the Office of Special Education. As the Legal Director of the SynGAP Research Fund, a global organization supporting families of SynGAP1 patients, he brings personal insight, as his youngest son is among the fewer than 1,500 known patients with this rare genetic disorder. Additionally, he contributes as a member of Mississippi’s Rare Disease Advisory Panel.

Kevin Wayne Frye has been celebrated as “Oxford’s Favorite Attorney” by The Local Voice readers for fourteen consecutive years since 2009. In 2019, the Mississippi Business Journal honored him as one of the state’s Top 50 Under 40. His leadership includes serving as President of the Lafayette County Bar Association from 2017 to 2018, and he was elected as Lafayette County District 1 Supervisor in November 2015.

His civic engagement includes serving on the City of Oxford’s Downtown Parking Advisory Commission and the Board of Directors for the Lafayette County Bar Association. He is also a member of The Lamar Order at the University of Mississippi School of Law. His past contributions include roles on Oxford’s Historic Preservation Commission and Oxford’s Alcohol Task Force. For five years, he was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Mississippi School of Law, directing the Public Service Internship Program and ABOTA Federal Trial Practice courses.

Kevin Wayne Frye earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all Mississippi and Tennessee courts, the District of Columbia, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
