Matthew Scott McKenzie

Matthew Scott McKenzie, an attorney at Tannehill & Carmean, PLLC, has been serving clients in Oxford, Mississippi, since his graduation from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2006. His legal expertise encompasses real estate, wills and estates, debt collection, and family law. In 2013, Matt was honored as one of Super Lawyer's Rising Stars of the Mid South.

During law school, Matt gained valuable experience clerking for Hughes & Hitt, P.A., where he assisted with real estate loan closings, and The Scruggs Law Firm, contributing to mass tort litigation research. In his final year, he clerked for Lafayette County Chancellor Edwin H. Roberts, Jr.

Originally from Florence, Alabama, Matt was actively involved at the University of Mississippi, serving as Sergeant-At-Arms of the Associated Student Body Senate and President of Phi Delta Theta. He received the Arthur R. Priest award, recognizing him as the top Phi Delta Theta member nationally. His academic involvement included membership in the Intra-Fraternity Council, Lambda Sigma, Order of Omega, Mortar Board, Omicron Delta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Alpha Lambda Delta. He was also a Class Favorite in his senior year.

Matt is married to Leah Chancellor, a fellow Ole Miss graduate from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. They have two daughters, Nora Gray and Murphey Deems, and a son, Chancellor Colle. The family is actively involved in their community as members of Grace Bible Church.
