Douglas Ponder

Doug Ponder focuses his practice on advocating for individuals who have been wrongfully terminated or injured due to another's actions. With a strong litigation background, Doug has managed trials, mediations, and appeals, having successfully tried over forty cases to conclusion. He has also adeptly handled appeals before the Missouri Court of Appeals and the Missouri Supreme Court.

Before establishing Ponder Zimmermann LLC, Doug built his career as a civil defense lawyer, representing hospitals and insurance companies in complex medical malpractice and personal injury cases. His experience ranges from handling intricate medical malpractice cases involving severe injuries to managing straightforward automobile accident claims. This background provides him with valuable insights into insurance defense strategies, benefiting his clients.

Doug earned his law degree with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, a top twenty-five institution. During his studies, he was awarded the Booker and Betty Smith Law Scholarship and the Iowa Law School Foundation Merit Scholarship. After graduating, Doug served as a judicial law clerk for Chief Judge Edwin H. Smith at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.
