Matt G Wayman

Matt Wayman, an associate attorney at the Hammer Law Firm, LLC, is dedicated to criminal defense in Missouri's state and Federal courts. His legal practice is driven by a commitment to reforming the criminal justice system, particularly through efforts to end cash bail, reflecting his belief in the power of individual action for systemic change.

Matt's academic journey began at the University of Missouri Columbia, where he earned an undergraduate degree in business administration. He then graduated from the St. Louis University School of Law in 2020. During law school, Matt was active in teaching criminal law to inmates at the City Justice Center and participated in SLU Law’s trial ad competition team.

Since joining the Hammer Law Firm, LLC, Matt has gained substantial trial experience, serving as second chair in numerous jury trials. He has successfully argued motions and examined witnesses in cases involving significant potential jail sentences.

Outside the courtroom, Matt enjoys spending quality time with his wife, who works in the financial tech startup sector, and their young son. He also has a passion for cycling, stand-up comedy, and mid-century architecture.
