Tana Benner

Tana Benner, founder of Benner Law in Columbia, Missouri, has been dedicated to family law for more than ten years. Her legal career began with her role as a court-appointed guardian ad litem in child order-of-protection cases, where she handled matters involving abuse and neglect. This role provided her with a unique perspective on children's legal issues and underscored the necessity of compassionate legal guidance.

Building on this foundation, Tana has expanded her practice to address a broad range of family-related legal challenges. Her primary focus areas include adoption law, custody disputes, and guardian ad litem work. She adeptly represents both parents and children in divorce proceedings, custody modifications, child support, and guardianship matters in probate court.

During her time at the University of Missouri School of Law, Tana contributed to the Missouri Environmental Law & Policy Review and was published for her note, "Waving Good-Bye to Environmental Laws." Her commitment to advocacy was further demonstrated by her participation in the Family Violence Clinic, where she represented domestic violence victims under the guidance of Professor Mary M. Beck.

Tana is an active member of the Missouri Bar, Boone County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Women's Network through the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, as well as Emerging Professionals in Columbia. She resides in Columbia with her husband, Nicholas, and their son, Cohen.
